The idea of relieving ones mind in a moment of hypnosis through color and line. Color has a major impact on the mind and how moods set themselves. With the measures of daily stress, people tend to forget the importance to destress, relax, or just take a moment. With 独楽KOMA, the viewer can be drawn in and refreshed for only a few moments that their mind allows. With the circular movement of line and color, it creates a hypnotic trance that can intrigue and reset ones mood.独楽 is a Japanese term referring to a spinning toy or top. The designs are simple and circular to compliment the motion of the top. When in motion, the colors fully blend together into a single pallet until it returns to a static state. While the 独楽KOMA series, focuses on the individual viewer, there is also a deeper understanding of the psychology of the artwork. Everyday millions of children cannot access basic materials to have a creative outlet to relieve their stress, anxiety and worries of their daily lives and situations. By being unable to grow and develop creatively, there becomes a massive miss for the generation to grow and develop their communities and their nations. The 独楽KOMA series is a reminder that it is not always possible for all to be able to step out of their situations and how the importance of art goes beyond simple creations, but it affects the development of humans and their societies.
